And the 'Call'...

This past conference weekend was amazing, so great. I drove with my parents Thursday night to Mesquite and then Friday morning we finished our drive to Provo. Lauren and her family as well as Rachel met us in Provo at my brother's place for conference weekend. It started out as just conference a few weeks back, but then my sister put her papers in and the weekend turned into a temple trip (live session for Rachel), conference, birthdays, and then the mission call. It was so exciting.

Friday evening was the session at the Timpanogas Temple, which was packed with other future missionaries it was great. Crazily enough we almost didn't make it. My sister and mom went early and we came later and of course got lost because the men thought they didn't need the directions we printed off. So just picture all of us running in our church cloths towards the temple in hopes of making the session. We did, but it was really close. ha ha! It was amazing I don't think I have done a session with my whole family before. Rachel was all emotional it was beautiful. I love my littlest sis. After the temple we headed back to Jared's place had some dinner and just hung out with each other it was great.

Saturday we all got up and watched conference together, well as much as we could with 2 little kids running around. Man, I haven't been distracted during conference in a long time, but despite the little distractions conference was wonderful. Saturday we also celebrated Jared's, Brynne's, and Luke's birthdays. We had the party at the house and then dinner at Tucanos
(that Brazilian restaurant) delicious and lots of fun. Luke did a better job than his brother on his first birthday cake, but not much, you'd think they would just dig in, but not so much. It was still fun to watch though.

While we were enjoying our brazilian dinner we got a phone call from our neighbor Craig Lauricella and family that Rachel's call came in today. We were all freaking out, and totally excited. He wanted to know if she wanted him to read it over the phone to her or if she wanted to wait. She couldn't wait. We were going to call him after dinner, but we didn't make it in time he had already left for the priesthood session, so we decided to do it when all the men got back from priesthood. Us ladies went shopping while we waited. Then around 8ish she made the call on my dad's cell. She put the phone on speaker so we could all here as Craig read her call and this is what it said...

I ran out of memory just as he was finishing the call, if you didn't hear she's going to Tampa, Florida spanish speaking mission. She is so excited, we are all excited for her. She thought it would be cool to go foreign, but she said she knew she would be staying stateside and she is just as excited about that. Rachie leaves June 17th or 14th can't remember, wow can't believe it. Luckily for me she's home in Cali till she leaves so I get a couple months to hang with her, which will be great.

Last weekend is definitely a weekend that will be remembered!!
